While all of the Grand Banks Eastbay 49's have always been popular, "Amyleasa" is an ESPECIALLY FINE example of the more rare and desirable Salon Express (SX) model with the factory hard-back salon enclosure vs the soft enclosure found on the Hardtop Express (HX). Even more rare and sought-after is the fact that she has the side door leading to the side decks at the helm- a feature that most cruising couples consider a "must-have" on any "DownEast" style cruising yacht. She is powered by the much preferred Caterpillar C12 engine package with 2060 hours, and services are up to date. Additionally, "Amyleasa" has an AWLGRIP painted hull, and has recently received numerous key upgrades over the years. With over $200,000 being spent in 2023-2024 alone, she is in excellent condition. Some of the more recent upgrades include:
-All new house and cranking AGM batteries (2021)
-New Blue Sea battery charger (2021)

The Grand Banks Eastbay 49' is arguably the finest and one of the most beautiful yachts to come from the boards of C. Raymond Hunt and Associates. Her design has defined the modern downeast cruiser, with most other builders trying to emulate the yacht since her introduction. Graceful sheer and moderate bow flare are reminiscent of Maine lobster boats, while her modified deep-V hull with computer designed lifting strakes are at the forefront of modern underbody design. Her twin 705 hp Caterpillar C12s engines (only 2060 original hours and services up to date) provide ample, reliable power and speed, and she cruises easily at 25 knots. The interior accommodations are well designed and provide a bright and airy ambiance. The galley like other living spaces is efficient with ample storage and top of the line appliances. Flawless joinery and elegant upholstery throughout have been refreshed and well maintained, and the vessel is professionally cleaned and managed. "Amyleasa"" is modern, fast, dry, stable, and beautifully detailed, as one would expect in a Grand Banks yacht. This boat is in turn-key condition and will readily appeal to a discerning yachtsman. If you wish to cruise in luxury and turn heads in every harbor, "Amyleasa" should be at the top of your list!
The yacht features a large cockpit with transom door to swim platform, enclosed pilot house with comfortable seating and entertainment center plus the sought-after starboard pilothouse helm door! Lower deck with two cabin, two head layout, galley and dinette. The Master is forward with an island queen berth and ensuite head with separate stall shower. There is a guest cabin to port with athwartships twin berths, hanging locker and storage drawers. The guest head is opposite the guest cabin and features a stand-up shower, sink with vanity, and Vacu-Flush head system. The galley has solid-surface countertops with moldings, twin under-counter Sub Zero refrigerator with additional top=loading freezer. Princess 3 burner electric stove with oven and broiler, and Sharp Convection Microwave. Lots of counter surface and storage space, including bottle storage, and a very functional galley in a seaway. Three steps up from the lower deck is the pilot house area. To Starboard is the helm station with newly installed STIDD pedestal captain's seat, adjacent to Port is a second newly installed STIDD companion seat with chart table. The salon area offers a large L-shaped settee with electronically actuated High/Low Teak table, barrel chair and entertainment center creating a fabulous indoor entertaining space. The original high-gloss salon sole has recently been covered by a layer of "Soundown" and comfortable carpeting. This space is air conditioned and heated to maintain comfort in varying climates. Year-round boating at its finest!
With the advent of the SX model the pilothouse / salon became fully enclosed, climate controlled and finished with an interior level of detail. This greatly enhanced the liveability vs. the earlier HX model. In addition, the area is "lockable"- electronics and other personal items are much better protected.
With the SX model the galley overhead opens up to the salon allowing natural light to flood in the lower spaces. It feels much more open and airy and allows the chef to interact with guests in the salon. (Unlike the HX model) The large U-shaped galley offers and abundance of counter space as well as storage in beautiful teak cabinetry and drawers. On the inboard side forward is a glass-faced bottle storage cabinet, and the high-gloss teak and holly sole is protected by a custom-fit carpet. The main galley equipment list includes:
This space lies directly across from the galley making meal service a breeze and an alternative to dining in the main salon. There is a TV mounted in the adjacent bulkhead for entertainment in this space, a book-shelf, plenty of additional cabinet and drawer storage, and an overhead hatch and side portlights that allow for plenty of natural lighting. Some of the highlights include:
The forward master cabin is quite large and includes a private ensuite owners head with separate stall shower. There are several opening ports and a large opening deck hatch for natural light and ventilation. The cabin is finished out in a satin varnished Teak with high-gloss trim, and provides excellent amount of storage lockers and drawers.
The Guest Stateroom is to port, with the guest head directly across to starboard forward of the lower salon. This is a comfortable space which includes:
Twin Caterpillar C-12 700 HP diesel engines
Anchor chain locker, self-draining
The cockpit is quite large, and is a perfect place for entertaining or enjoying the fresh air while underway. She has a beautiful teak sole with three (3) large lazarette hatches, molded steps leading to the side decks, easy access through the transom door from the swim platform, and more:
Awlgrip Hullsides, Flag Blue
